Since 2008 I have commissioned composers to write pieces for the recorder solo and in ensembles, here are those works:

 

 

 

 

 

SOLO

Lullaby (2008): 5’30” – Charlie Sdraulig – for alto recorder at A=415Hz

Breathe (2010): 6’30” – Charlie Sdraulig – for solo recorder player (bass(et) and contra-bass)

Commingled Recyclables (2012): 15′ – Matthew Horsley – for alto recorder

Shards (2012): 9+’ – Chris Dench – for solo recorder player: bass(et), tenor, alto, soprano, sopranino & garklein recorders

ENSEMBLE

Aurora (2012): 6+’ – Diego Villalta – Commissioned by Ryan Williams. Written for recorder player (soprano, alto, tenor, bass(et)), 2 violins, viola, cello, 2 double basses

Scenes from an Unfilmed Western (2013): 15′ – Matthew Horsley – Commissioned by Stuart Fisher and Ryan Williams. Written for uilleann pipes, recorders, guitar/banjo/mandolin/sitar (3 players)

Seven types of time machine (2014/15): 40+’ – Chris Dench – Commissioned by Luke Paulding and Ryan Williams with support from the Australia Council for the Arts.
Written for recorder player (bass(et), tenor, alto, soprano, sopranino & garklein recorders), flute, clarinet, two percussionists, violin, cello, pre-recorded or hidden piano, soprano voice & bass voice

Doom Alone (2016) – Samuel Smith – Commissioned by Stuart Fisher and Ryan Williams. Written for guitar, tenor recorder and distortion pedals (2 players)

Others, undeniably casual or fugitive, some even now dead (2016) – Alexander Garsden – Commissioned by Ryan Williams with support from Creative Victoria. Written for uilleann pipes, sopranino recorder and audio backing (2 players)
